Youth Ministry
AMEC Bastketball The mission of the AMEC basketball ministry is a holistic approach to address both physical and spiritual needs of men, women, and youth. Its objectives are to win and bring souls closer to God with the use of basketball to serve as a lure to attract them; to provide an outlet for various churches to recreate, interact, and fellowship together; to instill in the participants the values of competition, teamwork and unity; and to strengthen broken relationships between individuals, families, and God through various worship experiences.
Liturgical Dance Ministry "Agape" In the fall of 2000, Mrs. Patricia Browne, Chair of Woman's Day 2001, asked Mrs. Cozette Jackson to form a group of young ladies to dance for the Woman's Day Celebration. In March, 2001, the group performed a stirring dance to "Total Praise." They became an instant hit with the congregation. As a result of that performance, Pastor Darryl E. Walker asked that the Dance ministry be continued. In the summer of 2001, "Agape" (God's unconditional love) was created. The group has a membership of 15. The ages of these persons range from 6 years to 21 years old. Their goal is to purchase costumes and dance shoes, to attract more members, and above all to dance to the glory of God.
